Our Gift Wrapped Christmas Placemat Set combines elegant quilting, pretty gift-wrap details and gorgeous dimensional bow appliqué to create a festive table setting that looks beautifully luxurious.

The design is created in sections, making it possible to stitch these elegant placemats using your embroidery machine and then assemble the sections with a simple ¼" seam allowance. The individual blocks are quick and easy to stitch, with the quilting giving the finished placemat a beautifully detailed appearance without an excessively high stitch count.

Finished size is:
8x12 - 12x16inch
6x10 - 10x12inch - you can add borders to make it even bigger :)

The set includes designs to create the beautiful gift-box effect, complete with decorative ribbon bands and a large bow. Make your placemats in traditional Christmas reds and greens, elegant blues and silvers, or choose your own fabric colours to coordinate with your Christmas décor.

🧵 How It Works

Each section is embroidered onto stabilizer, with the batting, background fabric and quilting added during the embroidery process. The appliqué is then stitched, and the completed sections are trimmed along the built-in ¼" seam allowance line.

Once your sections are complete, simply place the panels right sides together and stitch them together. The instructions recommend completing the left and right sections first before joining them to the centre panel.

You can then add your choice of borders, backing and binding to finish your placemat exactly the way you like it. For an especially luxurious finish, the instructions suggest adding an additional layer of batting after assembling the embroidered sections.

🧵 Fabric & Materials

For the sample, the following were used:

• Off-white tone-on-tone cotton
• Blue Batik
• Red Batik
• Thin quilt batting
• Cut-away stabilizer
• Cotton backing fabric
• Cotton binding and border fabric

But don't let the sample colours limit you! Imagine these in traditional red and green, icy blue and silver, burgundy and gold, or even elegant white and gold for a sophisticated Christmas table.

📐 Hoop Sizes

Files are included for 6x10 and 8x12 inch hoops.

The design files are provided in 10", 11" and 12" size variations, with the individual elements ranging from compact bow and corner sections to longer ribbon and panel elements. The included stitch information shows the designs have been digitized with approximately 2,862–9,037 stitches, depending on the design and size.
