So... when should we go?
Spring is one of the most wonderful times to visit Italy. Flowers bloom across the countryside, temperatures are pleasant, and it's the perfect season for exploring historic cities, gardens, and coastal towns before the summer crowds arrive.
Summer brings warm sunshine, lively piazzas, outdoor cafés, and vibrant festivals. It's the ideal time to enjoy Italy's beautiful beaches, sip a gelato while strolling through cobbled streets, and experience the country's famous outdoor lifestyle.
Autumn is harvest season. Vineyards and olive groves are at their most beautiful, the weather becomes cooler, and food lovers can enjoy fresh local produce, wine festivals, and quieter sightseeing.
Winter has its own special charm. Christmas markets fill town squares, festive lights brighten historic streets, and snow blankets the northern mountains. Whether you're enjoying a cosy café in Florence or skiing in the Italian Alps, winter offers a completely different side of Italy.
So what should we pack?
Comfortable walking shoes are a must—Italy is best discovered one step at a time. Pack lightweight clothing for warmer months, a light jacket for cooler evenings, and extra layers if you're travelling in autumn or winter. And don't forget to save room in your suitcase... Italy has a way of sending everyone home with wonderful memories and perhaps a few delicious treats!
