Description
In this fourth Chapter of our Halloween Night story ....
"Twilight clung to the broken stones of the old chapel like a spell unfinished. In the hollow of its ruined arch, two bottles glowed faintly—one marked Elixir, the other bearing a dark, unfamiliar crest. They hadn’t been there before. That much, Lady Lilitha knew.
She stepped closer, careful not to disturb the violet and gold blooms curling at the base of the window. The elixir—she recognized. She had tasted its magic long ago, during a night when the moon bled silver and the veil between worlds had thinned. It had changed her. Marked her.
But the second bottle… that crest…
Her breath caught.
Maelor.
His name hadn’t crossed her lips in years. The last true male witch of the Hollow Veil—brilliant, vanished, and possibly mad. Some say he fled. Others whisper he was banished. But Lilitha had seen the look in his eyes the night the circle broke. Power wrapped in sorrow. Purpose wrapped in secrets.
Now his mark returned—etched into glass, left like a message in the ruins.
As she reached toward the bottle, the surrounding petals quivered—not from wind, but from recognition.
And far beyond the chapel walls, deep in the hollows where old roots tangled with buried bone, something else was stirring. Whispers, shadows, a change in the air. Soon, the season of masks and mischief would come. And with it, more signs—perhaps even grinning faces carved from gourds, lit from within by fire and fate.
But not yet.
For now, only the elixirs had returned… and with them, a warning:
She was not alone anymore."
