When I visited Bali earlier this year, I was captivated by the island’s exquisite woodwork — each carving filled with incredible detail and a deep connection to nature. Among Bali’s most memorable residents is the Long-Tailed Macaque, often called the Sacred Monkey of Ubud’s Monkey Forest Sanctuary.
Playful, clever, and full of personality, these monkeys are known for their cheeky curiosity — some even barter with tourists, trading stolen trinkets for treats! With their expressive faces, charming little mohawks, and gentlemanly mustaches, how could I resist bringing one to life in stitches?
